Open Question

Ancient Egyptian graves and tomb art preserve Senet boards, pieces and depictions of play across three thousand years, but no surviving Egyptian text records the turn sequence, throw values or capture rules the game actually used.

What would resolve this A surviving ancient Egyptian text describing how Senet was played, which has never been recovered. Modern rule sets, including the reconstruction proposed by Egyptologist Timothy Kendall, are scholarly inference from board and artwork evidence rather than an attested original ruleset.
