The FIBA Basketball World Cup is the sport's premier international national-team tournament, first held in 1950 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and won by the host nation. Known as the FIBA World Championship from 1950 until 2010, it was renamed the FIBA Basketball World Cup starting with the 2014 edition.
